Both 7-day and yearly sabbaths are implied by the plural word “sabbaths” in Ezekiel 20:11-24. The annual sabbaths are mo’ed, appointed times that apply to the feast days in Leviticus 23:44, and they are not “Jewish feasts,” God calls them “My feasts in verse 2, and supported by statutes forever in that chapter and to be restored by Elijah in Malachi 4:4,5 and Matt 17:11. The appointed times are counted from the new moon–the think crescent in the western sky after sunset, the chodesh in Exodus 12:2, is the beginning of the month and beginning of the year.
