Why was Jacob greatly afraid and distressed to meet up with his brother Esau? (Gen 32:7) Jacob wrestled all night with the angel of the LORD and would not let go unless “you bless me”. What was really going on here?  Why did Esau come to meet his brother with 400 armed men with swords? How did Esau find out that Jacob was returning home? Why did Esau have a “change of heart” and he and his men sheathed their swords? Was the kiss that Esau gave to Jacob genuine (Genesis 33:4)? Did these brothers actually reconcile? What is the deeper picture here? Why does YHVH say in Romans 9:13: As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”

Listen in on today’s podcast as we do a deep dive on the struggle between Jacob and Esau and how that struggle continues even today.
