Audio reading: Num 16:41-50 2 Kings 1:1-25 Acts 13:42-14:7 Psalm 139:1-24 Prov 17:19-21
“And the LORD said, ‘Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. Then a spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’“The LORD said to him, ‘In what way?’ So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the LORD said, ‘You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’ I Kings 22:20-22
This week get a peak “behind the curtain” to see what happens in the heavenly realm. The LORD wants to orchestrate circumstances so that wicked King Ahab will fall. A spirit comes forward and suggests the following scheme: he would send a lying spirit to King Ahab’s prophets to “manipulate and trick him” into going into battle, where he would be then be killed.
We see many lying spirits today. Much of the false narrative, propaganda and lies are promoted and pushed through the mainstream media. The Department of Injustice rolls out fake edits. Truth has “fallen in the street” and there is no justice:
In transgressing and lying against the LORD,
And departing from our God,
Speaking oppression and revolt,
Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
Justice is turned back,
And righteousness stands afar off;
For truth is fallen in the street,
And equity cannot enter.
So truth fails,
And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.
Isaiah 59:13-15
