This week the Torah teachers, Mark Call, Ray Harrison, and Mark Pitrone, begin the study of the Book of the prophet Hosea.
And it starts with an usual direction from YHVH to the prophet, to “take a wife of harlotry,” or marry a whore, in order to make what turns out to be a very dramatic point.
And a lesson that is just as central to the state of a not-so-different form of ‘whoring’ today.
