Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a two-part look this week at Torah parsha, Tetzaveh, (Exodus 27:20-30:10) which, among other things, describes in some detail the special clothing to be made and worn by the cohenim, or priests, when they serve the people and YHVH in the mishkan.

Again, the Bible gives us an amazing amount of detail. And explains that these garments are to be “for spendor and for beauty.” Why? And why is it important now, especially?

How important are clothes, really? Do we place to much emphasis on “looking the part?” This section of Scripture certainly indicates that when it comes to the cohenim who serve Him in the ‘set apart place,’ the answer is ‘very‘.

But, this year in particular, given the events that are building to what looks like a ‘Biblical-level climax’ of almost unbelievable Evil…there is something else to observe.

The Sabbath day midrash is thus all about ‘contrast’ —
