Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa Fellowship for a two-part look at parsha “Shmini” (Leviticus/Vayikra chapters 9 through 11) — and perhaps some insight as well into why what he refers to, especially now, as the ‘whore church’ would prefer to ignore it.

This one includes the death of the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, for offering “strange fire” before Yahuah, which “He had not commanded.”

But there’s much more to it than that.

The Erev Shabbat reading of the parsha is first:

This midrash, too, begins with a question: What were they THINKING? But the answer may sound even a bit TOO familiar.

So many people have been taught the Big Lie that ‘the Law has been done away with.’  But the fact that most don’t even understand the meaning of the word translated as “holy” is only one obvious result.

It occurred to me this week why the Whore Church particularly hates THIS parsha: because the lesson of Nadab and Abihu hits FAR too close to home.

And one of the biggest indicators is another ‘atbash,’ which Mark suggests is a bit similar to what we might now see as a Biblical Hebrew equivalent of an HTML tag, like a text equivalent of a flashing red sign.

And that setup, the warning, the event, and everything that follows seem to emphasize why we are to understand the “difference…between the unclean and the clean,” and the “holy” as opposed to the profane.

Again, the emphasis is that the “sharp, two-edged sword” of His Word is used to divide things. And those who believe we are to be “priests and kings on the order of Melchizedek” must be able to teach the difference.

“Shmini – Kadosh to YHVH – and NOT Profane Fire”
