After receiving the commandments from Mount Sinai, Israel desired to keep them. But they couldn’t. No matter how hard they tried they continuously failed to stay free from sin. It seemed almost as if they merely transitioned from their mindset of slavery at Egypt to slavery to sin. This needs to make us stop and think as to whether we are trying to keep the law of God still as “slaves” and “orphans”, or as sons? Attempting to justify ourselves by why we can do, or by why He has done? Yeshua said the son abides in His house forever, but the slave does not abide forever. In this season of the feast of trumpets, God calls us to evaluate our hearts and minds as to see whether we are truly His sons and known by Him to abide with Him forever.
