Mark Call – Parsha “Ki Tisa”– teaching from Shabbat Shalom Mesa

Join Mark Call of Shabbat Shalom Mesa fellowship for a two-part look at parsha, “Ki Tisa” (Exodus 30:11 – 34:35) which includes THE story that is among the most fundamental in the entire Bible to the understanding of “why we are where we are,” even if so much of religiosity prefers to deny the obvious.

There is much more in this “chock-full parsha,” however, as the Erev Shabbat overview makes clear:

The Bible is clear that a “stiff-necked people” wanted ‘many gods’, and the sin of the ‘golden calf’ grew from idolatry. But more problematic is how Aaron, the high priest himself, was not only drawn into the failure, but was allowed to continue in such a position of responsibility.

The questions posed tell us why that event is still relevant to people that are, millenia later, no less “stiff-necked”.
