To help us understand the deeper aspects of what Love is really all about, join me in taking some time to consult Deuteronomy 6:4 (the Testimony of the Shem’a) as it relates to Yeshua’s garden prayer in John 17:20-24, and Exodus 19:24 (The Mountain of Love) as it relates to Deuteronomy 6:5-9 (V’ahavta). Typically, this statement from the “V’ahavta” – “And you shall love” is understood to mean that we must work very hard to keep the commandments of God but if we fail in one or more points of observing these laws, we have failed to love God! However, it appears from the Hebrew grammar of Deuteronomy 6:5 (the V’ahavta) that we have incorrectly understood the concept of biblical love.  It’s not about our love for God; rather, it’s about God’s love for us.
