This is the third installment from the book of the prophet Ezekiel as Rabbi Steve Berkson continues to teach on the Heart of the Matter. This week the subject is ‘whitewashing’ and ‘uncovering the foundations.’ In Ezekiel chapter 13, Yahweh says through the prophet that He sees the false prophets who speak peace when there is no peace. He will not let them continue but will break them down and reveal their true motives.
Then Rabbi Berkson connects Ezekiel chapter 13 with Matthew chapter 23 where we see Yeshua confronting the Pharisees and Sadducees, the religious system of that day, and again uses the term ‘whitewash’ in describing them and their actions; oppressing, cheating, and misleading the people. Do we see any of this going on in the religious systems of today?
