Honoring Those Who Have Gone Before
In summarizing his lifetime of accomplishment, Sir Isaac Newton is remembered as saying, “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.”
On this show, we honor the giants on whose shoulders we all stand. Some of them, like Al’s late father-in-law, Chaplain Raymond Barry, are Christian. Some, like the Maccabees of old, are Jewish. All of them have done their part in advancing the redemptive purposes of our Heavenly Father in bringing redemption to a sick and weary world. It might help to consider this human experience as a relay race: every generation carries the baton, and then passes it on to the next as they leave the race course. It is good to remember what the previous generations have done. That is how we are able to carry the baton forward to the ultimate victory our Creator has orchestrated for the glory of His Name.
