The point of an oath, before God, is allegedly to prevent those who ARE “enemies foreign and domestic” from ever being seated in the first place. Too late for that, once the Law, and the oaths to “preserve, protect, and defend” it, no longer matter.
(There was, once upon a time, the concept in 16 Amjur Sec 177, too. It still exists, but is no up to those who still understand to ‘withdraw consent’. AKA, “come out of…”)
