Psalms 136 and 132 use the word “Restore” to talk about our Heavenly Father bringing back conditions that have been lost through bad decisions and evil plots against us. He promises to restore us to His plans and purposes for our lives if we will but follow his path that He has clearly laid out in front of us to follow. Even the major characters of the Bible stories fall and make mistakes. When they turn back to Abba, He steps in and restores their lives to get them back on track. Restore has to do with first of all, us turning from our mistakes and wrong direction, and then Abba turning the circumstances of our bad choices around to match up to His plan. We should take great encouragement from the heroes of the Bible who failed spectacularly yet returned to the path and succeeded mightily.
