This week, Mark Call completes the look at the last part of parsha “Naso” (Numbers chapter 7, in this case) and a look at what one of the most clearly “redundant” elements in the whole Torah, into this week’s two-part teaching.
The Erev Shabbat overview takes the repitition “head on,” not only with a bit of an ‘engineering perspective’ but a look at the bigger question, “Why?”
The Sabbath midrash picks up there. If those twelve princes of their tribes all managed to bring exactly the same offerings, each on their day, what does that really tell us. Today, we might use the term “groupthink” to describe people marching in unison. But it depends on Who they are following.
