Description
Description
Charlotte Mecklenburg lives in the Northwest and graduated from Eugene Bible College in Oregon with a BSS degree. She also attended University of Washington as well as the University of Oklahoma for linguistic studies.
She and her husband Frank lived in Papua New Guinea with the Faiwol people. While they were there they wrote down the Faiwol language, studied the grammar and phonemic system. An alphabet was established and primers were made. Following this small village classes for adult readers were set up to teach the people how to read.
Frank and Charlotte as a team translated traditional stories, government information for the people and also the book of Genesis and the New Testament for the people. At the present time the government is using these materials in their schools for the Faiwol children.
Since then Charlotte has been studying Hebrew and its culture more extensively with the hope of seeing languages that have New Testaments also have the First Covenant. This would give Faiwol and many languages like them a complete Bible
