Is it true that we must choose between following Yeshua OR following the Torah? Must we choose between Torah or grace? As Eddie begins this teaching series, he will lay out a foundation that it is YES and BOTH! To follow Yeshua IS to follow the Torah. We express our faith in Him as our savior and Lord by following His Torah. We show our love for him by keeping his commandments/His Torah (John 14:15).
We begin with definitions. We will define Yeshua (whose name MEANS salvation) and Torah (which means instructions).
The doctrine of salvation by grace in faith is not NEW concept:

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no man can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

This is something that is rooted and grounded in Torah. This principle was established when the God of Israel brought His people out of Egypt. Here is the pattern: FIRST God brings salvation by faith through grace for His people, THEN He gives them instructions for how to live their daily lives (Torah given at Mt Sinai).
